Job Overview

VIS Mechanical is seeking a skilled

Service Plumber

with a strong background in residential service, installations, and maintenance. This role is well suited for an experienced plumbing professional comfortable working with water pumps, water heaters, System 15 piping, Aquarise systems, cast iron piping, and a full range of residential plumbing fixtures.

The Service Plumber will deliver high-quality, customer-focused service to residential clients, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to VIS Mechanical's standards. This position includes access to a

company-provided service van

to support daily service calls.

Key Responsibilities

Water Heater Service:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair residential water heaters, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Residential Fixture Installation:

Install and replace plumbing fixtures including faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, and related components.

System Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

Accurately diagnose plumbing system issues and implement effective repair solutions.

Preventative Maintenance:

Provide maintenance services to help clients avoid future failures and extend system lifespan.

Customer Communication:

Clearly explain findings, options, and recommendations to homeowners, ensuring a positive service experience.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow all safety standards, use PPE appropriately, and comply with applicable plumbing codes and regulations.
Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years in residential plumbing or service plumbing

Licensing & Certifications:

Valid driver's license (required) Red Seal Plumber certification preferred but not mandatory

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems, water heaters, and service diagnostics

Customer Service:

Professional, clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks
Preferred Skills

Experience using plumbing diagnostic tools and service management apps/software Exposure to energy-efficient plumbing and water heating solutions Strong organizational skills for managing service calls and documentation
Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Wage:

$40.00-$60.00 per hour

Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts On-call and overtime availability for emergency service work as required
