Service Plumber

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Service Plumber to join our team. In this role,

you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing plumbing systems in

residential and commercial properties. You will respond to scheduled and emergency

service calls, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with

local plumbing codes.

The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving ability, and a

commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. You'll work both independently

and as part of a team to provide reliable plumbing solutions and maintain customer

satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Repair & Maintenance

? Pipe Repairs: Fixing leaks, burst pipes, or corroded pipes, often involving

replacing or sealing the damaged section.

? Drain Cleaning: Clearing clogged drains using specialized tools like drain snakes

or hydro-jetting.

? Fixture Repairs: Fixing broken faucets, toilets, showers, or other plumbing

fixtures that aren't functioning properly.

? Water Heater Repair: Diagnosing and repairing issues with hot water systems,

including thermostat problems, leaks, and heating elements.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

? Leak Detection: Identifying and locating leaks in plumbing systems using

techniques like pressure testing and leak detection tools.

? Sewer Inspection: Using cameras to inspect sewer lines for blockages or

damage, especially for deeper plumbing issues.

? Pressure Problems: Diagnosing water pressure problems, which could be

caused by issues like pipe corrosion, clogs, or faulty pressure regulators.

Installation & Replacements

? Piping and Fixtures: Installing water supply and drainage pipes, faucets, sinks,

showers, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and other plumbing fixtures.

? Water Heaters: Installing new water heaters (tank and tankless systems).

? Sewer Lines: Installing sewer lines and ensuring proper connections to the main

sewage system.

? Appliance Hookups: Connecting appliances like dishwashers, washing machines,

and water filtration systems.

? Fixture Replacement: Replacing old fixtures with more modern, energy-efficient

models, like low-flow toilets or water-saving faucets.

Emergency Services

? Emergency Repairs: Responding to urgent issues such as burst pipes, flooding,

or broken water heaters, often outside of regular working hours.

? Flood Control: Addressing issues caused by burst pipes, leaking fixtures, or

blocked drains that could result in significant water damage.

? Gas Plumbing: Working with gas lines for appliances like water heaters or stoves,

ensuring safe and proper installation and repair.

What You'll Need

Education & Certification

? Completion of third year plumbing apprenticeship program minimum.

Journeyman certification preferred.

? Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Experience

? Minimum 4 years of experience as a service plumber.

? Proven experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and/or

commercial plumbing systems.

? Experience with water heaters, boilers, fixtures, drainage systems, piping repairs,

and preventive maintenance.

? Experience providing on-call emergency service.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

? Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.

? Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

? Customer service-oriented with professional communication skills.

? Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

? Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in confined

spaces.

? Safety-conscious, with understanding of WHMIS, confined space, and

lockout/tagout procedures.

Additional Assets

? Able to pass a criminal record check.

? Experience with HVAC or mechanical systems.

? First Aid / CPR certification.

? Experience in supervising apprentices.
