Service Operator position on our growing

Job purpose

The service operator ensures all lines are fully stocked with the required packaging materials in a timely manner. In addition, he/she will wrap pallets of finished goods and apply finish goods labels.

Duties and Responsibilities

The associate's primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
Ensure the production line has the required packaging to run the scheduled products. Retrieve the packaging from the warehouse or staging area and bring it to the line. Remove all old packaging from the line, organize it on the pallet and return to the warehouse during changeover. Wrap finished pallets manually with the machine and apply labels as required. Bring empty pallets to the lines ensuring it is the correct type of pallet. Verify it is label is done correctly. Remove garbage and cardboard and food waste from the packing hall. General cleaning of the service area and assisting the changeovers and allergen cleans. Use of pump cart or power walkie (with training). Perform other assigned duties. Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations. Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines. Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience working in a product packaging environment preferred. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to safely perform heavy lifting and pulling on a continuous basis Must be a team player, have good organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision, and possess a safety-first approach to work. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and have dependable attendance. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working conditions

Work indoors. May be exposed to hot temperatures from ovens. May work close to others, usually within a few feet. Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting, and temperature.

Physical requirements

Standing involved. May repeat the same movement. Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets. Ability to bend or twist their body. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
