The Huddle Service Navigation Specialist is an important element in the implementation of the Integrated Youth Service Model. They are the direct link between schools and supports that are available at Huddle youth hubs and community service providers. Service Navigation Specialist will provide support and assist school staff and student with accessing services in six care areas: Mental Health, Substance Use/Addictions, Primary Care (including sexual and reproductive health), Peer Supports, Indigenous Wellness Programming, and Social Services such as employment, housing and other areas identified.
The Service Navigation Specialist will offer The Lord Selkirk School Division schools a direct link to the supports available at Huddle Selkirk. This Specialist is a direct resource and contact for School Support Teams - including, Elder, Principals, Vice Principals, School Counsellors, Resource Teachers, Clinician, Community/Intercultural Support Worker, Support Teachers, other support staff. They are also a direct support for our school community parents/guardians and family members. This position will be based at Huddle Selkirk and work directly within the Lord Selkirk School Division schools and Huddle Selkirk.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Navigation Specialist Service Delivery
o Direct link to supports for the Lord Selkirk School Division schools (Huddle, Community Partners and Providers)
Support school, community and caregivers with access to supports in the six core service component areas of Integrated Youth Services.
Communication and Documentation
o Ongoing communication and education to the School Division Support Teams on services provided by Huddle and part of communication strategy (website, social media, newsletters, support meetings)
o Data collection - statistical demographic information
Professional Development
o Maintain and update professional skills, certification and knowledge through continuing education
o Keep abreast with new developments in program areas through committee and other streams
o Provide/Deliver professional development opportunities to school division staff, students and caregivers as required

Pay: $19.50-$25.00 per hour
