As Service Manager at SMS Equipment, your leadership will shape the success of our Welding, Field Sales Support, and Mechanical Services teams. You'll guide and develop your team, drive operational performance, and ensure a customer-first culture--all while making strategic decisions that impact productivity, safety, and business results.

What You'll Do

Lead and develop the service team to deliver excellent customer service, coaching and guiding team performance. Oversee service operations across Welding, Field Sales Support, and Mechanical Services, including work orders, warranty management, equipment purchasing, and reporting. Collaborate with Operations and Branch Management to plan schedules, optimize productivity, and support lifecycle service programs. Monitor and manage daily costing, WIP, and branch P&L, including revenues, SG&A, GM, and PBT. Ensure full compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards while actively promoting a strong safety culture. Maintain accurate service data, analyze performance, and implement improvements to drive results.

What You Bring

A minimum of 5 years leadership experience in heavy equipment or industrial service operations. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Strong business acumen and continuous improvement mindset. Proven ability to develop and implement short- and long-term strategies, plans, and processes. Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and cost control. Comprehensive knowledge of technical areas, product lines, parts distribution, and service standards.
