Overview of the Position:

The Service Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the service department. This role ensures that all service operations, including engine diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and generator servicing, are performed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Service Manager supervises and supports service technicians, assists with coordinating schedules, manages workflow, and ensures the timely completion of projects. Through a focus on developing strong customer relationships, providing technical expertise, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. A Service Manager will be responsible for monitoring department performance, controlling costs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction Manages the development and training of service personnel and completes performance reviews of service staff Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order Plans, assigns, and directs work in the Service Department both in the shop and in the field; manages the department scheduling of work hours including daily hours, time off and vacation time to maintain appropriate department coverage. Support a healthy and safe workplace by ensuring that all safety practices and policies are followed by employees, contractors and on site customers Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and staff while maintaining confidentiality Continually identify and recommend opportunities to improve service to customers (internal and external) Provides input and assistance to the Branch Manager in monitoring and managing departmental expenses and resolving customer issues and complaints while working to maximize revenue. Resolves problem work orders as necessary through proper invoicing and ensures the necessary service reports are completed. Monitors job deficiencies and institutes necessary changes throughout the shop to improve productivity. Maintain and monitor work orders, ensuring timely and proper invoicing. Works collaboratively with suppliers to resolve all technical issues Responsible for meeting set profitability and maintaining effective cost control

Experience and Qualifications:



Hold a Journeyperson/Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certificate Have 5+ years of Heavy Equipment Technician experience Have 3+ years of experience in a Service Manager role, or similar role Previous John Deere/Kubota experience is an asset Proficient with Microsoft Office programs Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solving engines, generators, and/or control systems Customer-centric focus with excellent relationship management, interpersonal, and communication skills
