ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the Service Desk Administrator ensures an effective, reliable workstation experience for all corporate technology users in a primarily Microsoft environment. This position involves meeting the stringent SLA\xe2\x80\x99s for onboarding, identity / access management and for assembling workstations or installing the required applications. This role includes being part of a team environment and providing immediate support through our network technology, systems applications, and telephone.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide exemplary IT support to all corporate users.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Provide individual or group tutorials and documentation related to onboarding, new equipment or changes in technology, applications or software.
  • Maintain multiple aspects of the corporate network and desktop environment, including, but not limited to:
  • Routine and emergency maintenance.
  • Support and install various proprietary applications as well as many Microsoft products and some open-source software.
  • Peripherals (Fax, printers, copier, scanners, modems, etc.).
  • Adhere to adopted best practices, industry standards and follow proper termination protocols and enforcement of IT security and acceptable use policies when required.
  • Ordering and organizing supplies; vendor management, inventory control.
  • Remote and on-site support to all other members of the IT team.
  • Follow existing procedures, maintain, update and improve internal documentation.
  • Maintain current and up-to-date knowledge of technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
  • Other duties as business needs require.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Hybrid work schedule.
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Lift up to 50lbs of IT equipment.
  • Work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Participate in the on-call schedule, 24h support (paid premium).
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY USED:
  • Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
  • Minor Knowledge in Windows Servers.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minor Networking Knowledge (Ethernet, IP Networks, VPNs, routing theory, IP Addressing, LANs, Firewalls).
  • System installation including OS, applications and services.
  • Office 365 management.
  • PowerShell to manage AD and Office 365.
  • Internal software systems.
CREDENTIALS:
  • Internal candidates with at least 1 year of experience working at Distributel can apply.
  • Technical Diploma or equivalent experience (2 years) preferred.
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in IT-related position preferred.
  • Knowledge with Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365 preferred.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • English with French an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English necessary to support internal clients.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Assembling and repair of computer hardware.
  • Ability to learn and support corporate applications.
  • Ability to write training and how-to manuals.
  • Facilitating a "Service-oriented" environment while dealing with multiple users.
  • Maintaining a secure corporate IT desktop environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to teach users new technology.
  • Demonstrating mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent oral written communication and interpersonal skills.
