About Mishka Social Services:
Mishka Social Services is a Hamilton-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and racialized communities by offering culturally responsive programs, food security services, and community resources. This is a part-time contract position based in Hamilton, ON, with a hybrid schedule (remote and in-person). The position requires fluency in both Arabic and English, and offers an hourly rate of $17.20, with an expected workload of approximately 15 hours per week.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Service Coordinator to manage the daily operations of our food bank. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Arabic and English, have excellent communication skills, and be passionate about serving the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day food bank operations to ensure efficient service delivery. Coordinate food distribution, inventory management, and volunteer schedules. Maintain accurate records inventory, and service statistics. Communicate effectively with clients, volunteers, and partner organizations. Ensure culturally sensitive and respectful service, particularly for Arabic-speaking clients. Implement and maintain organizational systems to improve efficiency. Support outreach and community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Fluency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written) required. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in community service, social work, or nonprofit operations preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office, Google Workspace), extensive experience with Excel
Compensation:
$17.20/hour, paid biweekly, 15 hours per week
