Posted for Arlo's Dockside : Arlo's Dockside, is a known staple in the West St. Paul community - under new management and, as the new operator's, we are looking to improve and reinvent Arlo's Dockside's image. Arlo's Dockside is a seasonal operation that operates until early October.

We are looking for a server who has been around the block before. We'd prefer someone with experience in the serving world and is looking for an opportunity to potentially take on some more responsibility as an MOD after learning the ropes here.

This position, as expected, will include working a lot of weekends and evenings.

The pay for this position would depend on the shift. If you were working a regular serving shift the pay would be minimum wage. MOD or supervisor shifts, where you are also serving and therefore still earning tips, would be at a higher agreed upon rate due to the increased responsibility.

Duties for a Server

Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly demeanor. Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings. Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while maintaining attention to detail. Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, utensils, and condiments. Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally to enhance their experience. Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations during service hours. Demonstrate effective time management skills to balance multiple tasks while maintaining high service standards.

Duties for an MOD:

Closing the building and locking up or opening the building Ensuring all closing duties are performed correctly Potentially paying bands at the end of the night Answering guest complaints and determining the correct course of action during their shift Make suggestions to improve the bar and server areas Help with liquor inventory regulation and tracking Step up as needed to problem solve and trouble shoot Other miscellaneous tasks and duties as needed

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting is required Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Knowledge of the kitchen would also be appreciated, but is not required. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy shifts. A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
