A busy restaurant in Scarborough is

seeking a dedicated Server/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This role involves providing exceptional food service to guests while supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation and food handling. Responsibilities

Greet and serve guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring an excellent dining experience Assist with meal preparation, including basic food handling, cooking, and plating Support kitchen staff with food prep tasks such as chopping, knife work, and assembling ingredients Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in compliance with food safety standards Handle food safely and responsibly, adhering to all health regulations Set up dining tables, serve beverages, and assist with catering events as needed Ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation Support the team during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple tasks

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential Basic culinary skills including knife proficiency, meal preparation, and food handling techniques Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with guests and team members Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if required Prior experience in catering or culinary roles is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
