Position Overview:
Governed by the Vision, Mission and Values of the Bowness Community Association, the Server/Bartender is a front line position responsible for providing quality food and service to the guests of the Bowness Community Association during operational hours in The Landing and/or concession. Key responsibilities of this position include providing exceptional customer service, preparation of menu items, running food, bussing tables, washing dishes and maintaining the kitchen facility to the highest standards of cleanliness.
Accountabilities and Expectations
Guide guests through the food and beverage menu, answering questions as needed
Receive orders at the bar, prepare beverages, serve tables and take payments from guests
Prepare and serve simple menu using equipment such as a panini press and air fryer, ensuring food safety at all times
Bus tables in The Landing or concession and take dishes to dish pit, wash dishes and return them to service area
Ensure all foods are properly handled and stored and all work areas meet sanitation, health and safety standards at all times
Take ownership for completing and/or following up on assigned tasks or direct requests from your manager (or other team member)
Advocate to the team or your manager for changes that you feel are necessary to provide a welcoming and inclusive gathering space
Clean all kitchen/bar equipment, keep stock room organized, and ensure work stations and beverage stations are properly refilled at the end of each shift
Update your manager on bar, kitchen and beverage station inventory to ensure supplies and ingredients are ordered when needed
Assist with the facilitation of private rentals in the Landing and/or concession
Serve customers in a courteous manner and manage complaints in a professional manner
Perform opening and closing duties as required, including cash handling and closing the till at the end of the day
Ensure compliance with AGLC requirements, including age verification for guests where required
Skills and Experience:
One year serving and cash-handling experience preferred, but not necessary
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all facility users
Motivated, ambitious and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Well-developed time management and organizational skills with a customer oriented mindset
First Aid/AED/CPR, WHMIS, and CRCAV required
Pro-Serve and FoodSafe required
