We are a innovative Italian restaurant in Markham serving lunch, dinner and high tea. The restaurant has around 60 seats in an inviting atmosphere, catering to guests and occasional private events. We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, efficiency in food and beverage service, and the ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining a positive attitude. The server reports to the restaurant manager directly.
Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Micros POS
Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
Manage multiple tables efficiently with excellent time management skills
Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling duties
Upsell menu items to increase sales opportunities while ensuring guest satisfaction
Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, and dining areas in accordance with sanitation standards
Assist in food preparation or kitchen tasks as needed to support overall restaurant operations
Respond promptly to guest inquiries or concerns to ensure a positive dining experience
Experience
Previous experience in food service or hospitality is required, preferably as a server in an Italian restaurant
Familiarity with POS systems
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing tabs
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
Experience with serving in a fast-paced environment demonstrating excellent time management skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting within the food industry
