We are an innovative Italian restaurant in Markham, dedicated to provide ultimate dining experience for guests and events. We serve lunch, dinner, weekend afternoon tea and takeaways. The restaurant seats around 60 people. Servers will work with the manager and boh team to provide excellent customer service.
Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred, along with a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. The Server will be an essential part of our hospitality team, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our establishment.
Duties
Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Micros POS, ensuring timely communication with kitchen staff
Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
Handle cash/credit card transactions accurately through cashiering responsibilities and cash handling procedures
Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on tables regularly and responding promptly to requests
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, adhering to food safety standards
Assist in food preparation or kitchen duties as needed, supporting overall restaurant operations
Manage time effectively during busy service hours to serve multiple tables efficiently
Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations throughout service
Skills
Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for order entry and cashiering
Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and guest satisfaction
Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tables during peak hours
Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and food safety protocols in a restaurant setting
Experience in food service or the food industry is highly desirable, including serving and food preparation skills
Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation and cash handling
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
Kitchen experience or restaurant experience is a plus for understanding food flow and guest needs
Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and interact positively with guests
Upselling techniques to promote menu items naturally and enhance guest experience
