We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team. at Il Fornello! We are an Italian upscale family-friendly restaurant, entering our second year of operations. Il Fornello as a brand has become a house-hold name in the GTA over the past 50 years, and you can be part of our continued growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Server, you will be responsible for ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by delivering high-quality food and beverage service while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner. Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system, including Micros POS. Provide detailed menu information, including daily specials and recommendations, to enhance guest experience through effective upselling techniques. Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction. Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change as needed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, adhering to food safety standards. Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties as required, ensuring all food handling practices are followed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely order fulfillment. Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.

Skills

Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Proficient in using POS systems, particularly Micros POS, for order entry and payment processing. Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices within the food industry. Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations. Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members alike. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
