Position Overview



The Server is an essential ambassador of the dining room, responsible for guiding guests through a thoughtfully composed culinary journey. This role requires a polished professional with an expert understanding of food, wine, and refined service standards. The ideal candidate is attentive yet unobtrusive, confident yet humble, and consistently anticipatory in meeting guest needs.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver service with an elevated, intuitive, and guest-focused approach that reflects Michelin-level standards. Demonstrate deep knowledge of food preparation, ingredients, allergens, menu progression, and culinary philosophy. Present dishes, beverages, and pairings with clarity, accuracy, and refined tableside presence. Maintain impeccable pacing, ensuring guests experience a seamless, well-timed progression through each course. Curate personalized recommendations for wine, cocktails, and pairings while upholding the restaurant's beverage program. Anticipate guest needs discreetly, ensuring water, wine, and table maintenance are precise and never intrusive. Collaborate closely with service captains, managers, and back-of-house teams to support a cohesive and meticulously executed service. Uphold the aesthetic and standards of The Standard Hamilton through polished grooming, professional demeanor, and consistent attention to detail. Maintain a deep understanding of reservation flow, guest profiles, and special occasions to enhance the dining experience. Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation protocols with rigor and consistency.

Qualifications



Prior experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or Michelin-guided service strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge of wine, spirits, and food pairings; formal training or certifications are an asset. Exceptional communication skills with natural poise and presence tableside. Ability to remain composed, organized, and focused in a high-intensity, detail-driven service environment. Strong commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, and elevating guest experiences. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
