Responsibilities:



Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our Residents Present the menu, take written orders and communicate special requests to the culinary team Serve meals and beverages to Residents in a courteous and professional manner to their satisfaction and comfort Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery as required Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees Assist the culinary team in preparing, portioning, and serving simple items (i.e., beverages, soups, salads, desserts) Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas including deep cleaning when required Assist with housekeeping including light dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing linens and making beds as needed Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental procedures Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures Be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it Attend in-service training as required in to better serve the needs of the Residents Attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the workplace Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, and integrity as set out in the Company's Code of Conduct and Handbook Complete all other tasks as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements:



2 years of serving experience Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors High School Diploma Certification of mandatory training in public health and sanitation (Food Handling Permit)

Technical Requirements:



Operating in an efficient manner while maintaining safety practices Working knowledge of English both verbal and written

Non-Technical Requirements:



Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift Must be comfortable using PPE around commercial grade chemicals and sanitization products Availability to work various shifts (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
