As a Server, you are responsible for the well-being of our residents through creating a friendly, inviting dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities

Greeting residents

Take meal orders

Answering questions about menu items

Serve meals and beverages, including carrying heavy trays

Kindly work with residents requiring alternate menu option due to allergies or medical reasons

Assist with dishes and food preparation

Ensure the dining room and kitchen are safe and sanitary

Serve during special events and catered functions as needed

Setting and re-setting tables, clearing debris and garbage

Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies

Identify and report any health, safety, and maintenance concerns

Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors

Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of one (1) year experience

Strong background in food services in a residential care setting or hotel

Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners

Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle fast paced environment

Comprehensive food services knowledge, including focus on quality, production, sanitation and presentation

Superior written and oral skills

Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Able to work flexible shifts

Conditions of Employment

Food Handlers Permit is Prefered

Clear Police Information Check

Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

COVID-19 vaccination proof. This requirement may be waived if you have received an exemption through the provincial government.
