Showcasing the vibrant essence of Latin cooking, Bar Sofia is a paradise for shared plates and cocktails. Led by celebrated Chef Anthony Walsh, Bar Sofia playfully nods to his family's Argentinian heritage as well as the next generation of food lovers, artists and adventurers.



Highlighting fresh and bright flavours, Bar Sofia's all-day menu features an array of tasty snacks and small plates including addictive empanadas and colourful salads; along with larger format meat, seafood and vegetable dishes meant for sharing among friends old and new.



We are looking for a Host/Server Assistant at Bar Sofia who will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression for all guests, supporting servers in delivering seamless service, and ensuring the dining room operates smoothly and efficiently.

What you will be doing:

Effectively managing reservations and walk-ins to maximize seating capacity; Communicating with Servers, Bartenders and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant; Escorting guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly; Ensuring that the front entrance, host stand and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris; Knowing all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section; Maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas by completing checks regularly throughout shift; Answering questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant functions and services when necessary; Monitoring the cleanliness of section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter; Practicing a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required; Communicating to all servers any comments or information provided by guests to ensure a positive, memorable experience; Other similar duties as assigned or required.

The person we are looking for has:

ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment; organizational skills; ability to take direction and prioritize a variety of tasks at once; strong oral communication skills; high level of product knowledge.
