We are seeking a skilled
Septic Tank Installer
with a valid
BCIN (Building Code Identification Number)
and proven
heavy equipment operation experience
. The role involves planning, installing, inspecting, and maintaining septic systems in compliance with Ontario Building Code regulations. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with hands-on ability to operate excavation and construction equipment safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret septic system design plans, drawings, and permits in compliance with OBC Part 8 regulations.
Install, repair, and maintain septic tanks, leaching beds, and related systems.
Operate heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, skid steers, etc.) to complete excavation, grading, and installation tasks.
Conduct site evaluations, soil tests, and layout work to determine proper septic system placement.
Ensure all installations meet environmental and health & safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including compliance documentation for municipal authorities.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and ensure safe operation at all times.
Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and team members regarding project requirements and progress.
Adhere to company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications
Completion of high school diploma.
Valid
BCIN number
(required).
Proven experience in
septic system installation
and compliance with OBC Part 8.
Demonstrated
heavy equipment operating experience
.
Knowledge of excavation practices, soil classification, and drainage systems.
Strong understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, and municipal permitting processes.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (DZ or AZ license an asset).
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
