Location: Mostly remote but some office work would be ideal if possible (1-2 days a week in North York)
Salary: $140K to $165K
Job Type: Full-time role with tenured team, health benefits, and stability!About the RoleOur client, a Cloud storage platform company, is looking to bring on a Senior or Principal NodeJS Developer to lead the design of advanced solutions - with a strong emphasis on microservices and the latest technologies. In this key role, you\'ll continually refactor for enhanced efficiency, implement risk and security measures, and contribute strategically to the platform\'s architecture. You will be involved in all stages of the SDLC, ensuring that the production infrastructure is well-prepared for upcoming feature releases.Responsibilities:- Design solutions to complex problems which satisfy user & non-functional requirements
- Champion microservices with asynchronous communication
- Work on adopting new technologies/tools
- Constant attention to refactor and improve efficiency
- Design and engineer solutions and services with embedded risk and security controls as mitigation against threats
- Create strategic solutions that consider the risk, benefits, and conflicts of the situation
- Participate in strategic development of platform architecture and infrastructure
- Participate in SDLC cycles to ensure production infrastructure and processes are compatible with impending feature releases
- Perform risk assessments of engineering solutions and designs
- Contribute to analysis for new business requirements
- Work with peer teams to deliver successfully on integration pointsQualifications:- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in hands on leadership with technology delivery, design, and development
- Node.js and Angular
- Proficiency in Node.js is critical with some hands-on experience in Angular for the front-end
- PHP: Very nice to have, as there are PHP components that require maintenance and development
- Database management - expertise in MySQL and MongoDB ideal, with a strong preference for MongoDB if only one is known
- Experience in writing and improving SQL queries and scripts is essential
- Architectural knowledge
