You will work as a Lead/ Senior Engineer, partnering with CPP Investments\' front office and investment operations departments to design, develop, and support data analytics systems that will help address the disparate analytics needs in the investment lifecycle.

You will see firsthand how your software is impacting trade activities and delivering long-term value to the CPP Fund for the benefit of 20 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries.

The opportunity:
  • Work in partnership with CPP Investments\' trading professionals to conceptualize, design and implement analytics systems that enhance the trade analytics capabilities in Public Markets.
  • Gain exposure to trading activities across a wide breadth of financial products
  • Be a part of CPP Investments\' Public Markets Technologies, gaining hands-on experience with AWS technologies, employing DevOps and leveraging patterns and best practices defined to deliver scalable, maintainable, and flexible solutions.
  • Assist with software solution architecture, manage timelines/deliverables and work closely with other developers on enhancement projects.
  • Participate in the development life cycle from start to completion - requirements analysis, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Promote Agile best practices through active team participation, knowledge sharing sessions, and maintenance of documentation on team wiki.
  • Provide responsive business assistance while adhering to processes required for quality enterprise-level software development and support.
  • Work closely with team management to contribute to multi-team initiatives.
  • Coach junior team members and provide technical guidance
  • Proactively find improvement opportunities to streamline business processes, automate manual processes where appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

If you possess the following, we\'d like to hear from you:
  • University degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building data exploratory interfaces using Notebooks (JupyterHub/Lab, Spark/Livy, matplotlib, Plotly/Dash, etc.)
  • Hands-on expertise with building data pipelines and applications, Databricks, leveraging Kubernetes and Python
  • Deep proficiency in Python with experience using Spark, Pandas or PySpark.
  • Experience of ETL pipelines, managing multiple datasets and providing necessary support.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and be a self-starter.
  • Familiarity with financial products including derivatives also a plus; interests in trading, equities trade life cycle with an eagerness to contribute to the systems that support them.
  • Strong knowledge of software development best practices and patterns.
  • Knowledge of R language is preferred
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and relationship management skills.
  • Commitment to CPP Investment\' guiding principles of integrity, partnership and high performance.
