Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a

Senior Workovers Engineer

based out of our

Virden, MB

office. This position is eligible to participate in Tundra's hybrid work schedule on a flexible basis, as determined by business needs. The role will also require regular field presence and occasional travel.


As a

Senior Workovers Engineer

, you will lead the optimization of all technical aspects of workover, downhole remediation, and abandonment operations. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution while driving innovation, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

: Manager, Workovers

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

:

Operational Planning & Execution



Prepare AFEs and secure approvals. Program, schedule, and monitor workover activities. Provide accurate downhole cost estimates and forecasts. Organize equipment and supervise job execution. Review morning reports and liaise with field supervisors and service companies.

Technical Leadership & Problem Solving



Diagnose and resolve operational challenges. Conduct well programming and research for problematic wells. Implement emerging technologies to enhance performance and reduce costs. Execute scope of work through high-quality planning, design, and cost control. Review and approve invoices.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance



Ensure operations meet all regulatory requirements and reporting standards. Stay current with government regulations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Provide leadership in well control and emergency response planning. Champion a proactive safety culture and EH&S guidelines.

Collaboration & Communication



Work closely with Production, Reservoir, and Geology teams to align on well design and execution plans. Serve as the Workovers representative on Business Development teams. Communicate with partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment on operations.

WHAT YOU NEED:



Undergraduate degree in Engineering or diploma in Petroleum Technology. Minimum 10+ years of oilfield experience; workovers experience is an asset. Professional Engineer designation (or working toward it). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AccuMap, and PVR. Ability to complete required safety certifications (H2S, First Aid, TDG, WHMIS, Wellsite Blowout Prevention).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:



Strong technical knowledge of completions and workover operations, including horizontal well stimulations. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across teams. Mechanical aptitude and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to travel to remote field locations and the flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required.
