THE OPPORTUNITY:




Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a

Senior Waterflood Exploitation Engineer

based out of our Calgary, Alberta office. The incumbent in this role will be eligible to participate in Tundra's hybrid work schedule.


In this role, you'll relish challenging problems, enjoy getting the most economic value from our assets, and seek opportunities to creatively apply continual learning. This position in our growing team will work towards developing new and established waterfloods in Bakken assets located in SW Manitoba.



You'll will work closely with multidiscipline teams to maximize value of primary and secondary recovery projects using cutting edge technologies. The Waterflood team works together in a fun, trusting environment, with respect and integrity.

REPORTS TO:

Manager, Reservoir Engineering

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:



Overseeing primary development and assets under waterflood. Supporting development of long-range-plans to efficiently de-risk contingent resources over a multi-year horizon. Participating in waterflood surveillance meetings to provide input, guidance, and identify opportunities for efficient recovery from existing waterfloods. Working with reservoir simulation specialists to assess production modelling based on flow regimes, well testing analysis, well design and development planning. Engaging with teams to provide appropriate performance 'lookbacks' of existing waterfloods to senior management and to the Tundra Board. Identifying subsurface, infrastructure, and data requirements for reliable and safe implementation and monitoring of waterflood projects. Running project economics and sensitivities to assess feasibility of waterflood projects and optimizations. Supporting research and development of water breakthrough mitigation techniques. Reviewing waterflood unit applications prior to submission to appropriate government regulators. Providing coaching to junior staff on priorities, goals, career development, and technical materials. Other duties as required.

WHAT YOU NEED:



Bachelor's Degree with P. Eng. Designation 8+ years of active and progressive waterflood or similar experience Excellent knowledge of reservoir engineering techniques, well forecasting methodology, reservoir studies, and economic analysis Strong familiarity with horizontal waterflooding Familiarity with field operations, in particular light oil operations, is considered an asset. Experience with software such Accumap, Mosaic, Eclipse. Petrel, and Spotfire is an asset. Willingness to travel to field sites.

Prior Business Team Lead and/or supervisory experience with the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals is an asset.
