JLL is currently seeking an experienced senior consulting practice business leader for the role of Senior Vice President of Project & Development Services (\xe2\x80\x9cPDS\xe2\x80\x9d) - Central Region, based in our downtown Toronto office. The ideal candidate is a locally recognized industry leader in project management services, who will be responsible for leading a team of 20 project management professionals, cultivating new and existing business relationships, and strategically networking and positioning JLL as a leader in project management services. Our successful candidate will be responsible for leading pursuit strategy, sourcing, positioning, proposing, and securing of new project mandates. This role will see you collaborating with JLL peers, partners and clients, and will require a confident communicator, with the gravitas to liaise with a range of professionals and business partners.

Responsibilities:

Relationships \xe2\x80\x93 collaborate with industry, clients, and Canadian/US JLL peers:

  • Cultivating new and existing business relationships.
  • Collaborating with JLL peers, practice and other regional leads, and SMEs to leverage JLL\xe2\x80\x99s vertically integrated real estate services platform.
  • Working with owners, landlords, developers, tenants, institutions, architects, engineers, contractors, trades, and suppliers.
  • Building rapport with key client representatives and soliciting feedback on our PM performance.
  • Assisting clients in the development of creative real estate strategies linked to their business objectives.
  • Acting as the highest regional point of escalation capable of tactfully resolving potential issues.
Growth \xe2\x80\x93 strategize, market, and pursue regional opportunities:
  • Developing and executing the regional growth and marketing plan.
  • Working with PDS leadership to ensure qualified resources are available for the regional growth strategy.
  • Strategically networking and sourcing business leads, and representing JLL at industry events.
  • Positioning JLL as a leader in project management services.
  • Marketing available JLL service offerings.
  • Contributing ideas to new product development and service delivery strategies.
  • Leading the pursuit strategy, sourcing, positioning, pitching, and securing of new business.
Operational Management \xe2\x80\x93 ensure the regional team achieves P&L financial and growth targets:
  • Developing growth strategies and annual business plan with the PDS EVP & National Lead, and the other Regional Leads.
  • Actively managing the Central Region P&L \xe2\x80\x93 revenue, contribution income, AR, backlog, utilization \xe2\x80\x93 to achieve or exceed targets.
  • Forecasting resource needs, PDS growth and financial direction, and economic trends.
  • Taking calculated risks aligned to strategic plans and operational targets.
  • Achieving positive results and meeting annual growth targets.
  • Fully and accurately informing the PDS EVP & National Lead of all project, internal, and client issues affecting the Central Region\xe2\x80\x99s operational targets and JLL\xe2\x80\x98s reputation.
Team Management \xe2\x80\x93 support, empower and lead others to grow your region:
  • Energizing, supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating PCs, APMs, PMs, SPMs, Project Directors, and VPs.
  • Attracting top talent, conveying expectations, and negotiating offers of employment and contracts.
  • Balancing resources and assigning work to maintain high levels of project billability.
  • Educating and training your team where JLL and PDS expectations, policies, best practices, procedures, and methodologies are concerned.
  • Fostering an ethical environment of accountability, excellence, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Making tough decisions in the best interest of your team\xe2\x80\x99s future success.
Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 lead, advise, and/or oversee proposals, negotiations, resourcing, partnering, and project execution \xe2\x80\x93 being each client\xe2\x80\x99s highest level of contact and escalation:
  • Negotiating and executing complex contracts before commencing project work.
  • Staffing, stabilizing, and overseeing larger, more complex programs and projects.
  • Developing project delivery, risk, budget, and schedule strategies and processes, including the use of available technologies.
  • Establishing, maintaining and meeting project goals and criteria to satisfy client expectations.
  • Actively troubleshooting, problem solving and tracking key project performance indicators.
  • Ensuring projects are completed within scope, schedule, budget, and the client\xe2\x80\x99s changing needs.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience pursuing and delivering project management or real estate consulting service mandates, posses \xe2\x80\x9cOwner Representative\xe2\x80\x9d project management experience.
  • Commercial lease and transaction negotiation knowledge.
  • 10+ years of managerial and leadership experience with a proven ability to manage P&L, successfully grow a team and business.
  • Institutional infrastructure project experience (healthcare, education, government).
  • Led major fit-up projects of $10M+ from inception to completion without supervision.
  • Led major capital projects of $25M+ from inception to completion without supervision.
  • Ideally, led major development projects of $50M+ from inception to completion without supervision.
  • Team leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Demonstrated client relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and solution development.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Travel as needed.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar education is an asset.
  • P.Eng. or similar professional designation is an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Sustainability designation such as LEED, CSP, ENV SP is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; articulate, responsive, and highly organized.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Skilled at MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSProject) and Adobe softwares.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and demanding, entrepreneurial environment.
