Department Overview

TD Bank Group\'s Enterprise Vendor Management Office (EVMO) supports all TD Third Party relationships. As a team within the EVMO, the Corporate VMO is responsible for the third party relationships supporting TD Corporate businesses (ie. Human Resources, Enterprise Real Estate, Marketing and Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) Enterprise Programs (EP), such as consulting).

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in related area
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Third Party Management
  • Previous Sourcing/Vendor Management accountabilities with experience with the entire Third Party Management Lifecycle (specifically as the direct VM lead subject matter expert)
  • Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple work items while working effectively with stakeholders thru collaboration
  • Understands enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall Third Party Management activities.
  • High level of professionalism in strategy development & excellent written/verbal communications to senior executives.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to lead by influence
  • Strategic, innovative thinker with strong analytical skills and capable of making decisions in a timely and thoughtful manner

Job Details

This Senior Vendor Manager (SVM) role within the Corporate VMO will support Enterprise Programs (including consulting vendors). Specifically consulting vendors within the Enterprise Consulting Program (ECP), which is designed to create and deliver on a strategic approach to leveraging consultants, giving TD a competitive advantage, enabling TD businesses to access a variety of talent in order to meet their needs, while mitigating risks and with optimized commercial value.

As a key member of the Corporate VMO, the successful candidate will manage third parties within the EP thru all stages of the Third Party Management Lifecycle (TPML), in alignment with TD policies, methodologies and Corporate VMO objectives to drive best in class vendor management.

The successful candidate will be responsible to:
  • Manage the EP third party portfolio within all phases of the Third-Party Management Lifecycle, including compliance with related TD Policies, Standards and Framework.
  • Drive a one TD approach to managing third party relationships by working with other VMO\'s within the EVMO, internal partners (legal, SSG, TPRM, all TD risk partners) and business partners to ensure contracts and agreements maximize value, meet business objectives, regulatory requirements, mitigate risks and meet the TD policies and standards
  • Build governance and foster a close partnership with SSG on strategic thought leadership, medium to long term planning and ensuring an integrated approach with internal stakeholders.
  • Build and lead relevant governance meetings to ensure appropriate level of engagement from third parties, stakeholders, including senior executives (ie. facilitation/implementation of action/remediation plans to address performance or risk issues, spark key strategic discussions engaging all stakeholders for feedback, direction/alignment on third party strategy & to proactively understand their needs and potential future needs)
  • Author all adhoc and planned executive summaries on EP third parties in a clear, concise, accurate and expeditious manner
  • Manage business level communications to ensure messages to all stakeholders (incl executives) are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and management direction; Facilitate applicable knowledge transfer between business units
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of third parties, inclusive of managing and reporting of third party portfolio performance, spend/budgets/expenses and oversight governance to internal stakeholders/applicable Accountable Executives.
  • maintain Third Party Management data as up to date within TD systems (ie. SAP Ariba and Coupa Risk), including evidence of all activities for audit readiness.
  • Ensure an integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across third party portfolio, providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership.
  • Interact with corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements, participate in third party Annual Assessments and complete regular TPRM Scorecards. Additionally, collect/review/assess audit documentation (i.e. SSAE16, SOC I/II, SIG) and determine next steps for remediation of gaps.
  • Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues per enterprise policy / guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed.
  • Support stakeholders by continually building knowledge on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the EP.
