We are looking for an experienced UX/UI designer to work as a strategic partner on our ever-growing website and key marketing initiatives. Our ideal candidate is passionate about developing a better user interface using insights from real people. They have the proven skills and experience to turn these insights into beautifully-designed websites (interactions and visuals), and to inspire our teams through prototypes and demonstrations before building final products.

Reporting to the Design Manager, Marketing - Brand, strategy and communications, the UI/UX Designer will work collaboratively with other marketing & communications professionals and senior staff members to build effective websites and digital experiences.

As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you\xe2\x80\x99ll take on complex challenges and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs suited for specific audiences and personas. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely with other Designers, Architects, Writers, Developers, Analysts and Product Owners throughout the design process \xe2\x80\x93 from understanding the behavior patterns to building user interface mockups and prototypes. At each stage, you\xe2\x80\x99ll advocate for the users by anticipating their needs and goals and, through close collaboration with the marketing team, ensuring that the intended design aligns with business objectives and is delightful to use.

The ideal candidate combines both technical and creative skills to develop end-to-end solutions. From exploration, research, and conceptualization to interaction and final end user interface designs. Armed with a strong aesthetic sense, a solid understanding of typography, layout and design systems, your strategic thinking skills enable you to demonstrate a customer-centric approach to turning concepts and ideas into beautiful designs and meaningful interactions. The successful candidate is dynamic and driven, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead key initiatives and be responsible for the end-to-end process to design the information architecture and user journeys/experiences on Questrade.com to deliver best user experience while driving business growth through lead and customer acquisition
  • Taking the lead on key initiatives for all of the below with support from Lead Designer/Team Lead to determine prioritization:
  • Planning, designing and optimizing Q.com information architecture to drive customer acquisition and conversion
  • Conduct user and competitive research to provide insight for design recommendations and improvements. Also be able to interpret web analytics and usability testing results to improve UX
  • Development of web personas, user stories and customer journeys on Q.com and wireframes
  • Validating content structure and navigation on Q.com
  • Creation and maintenance of Q.com UI elements, web components and design system
  • Develop high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes of various complexity
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Ability to manage and develop design systems and libraries following our brand guidelines
  • Understand trends and different forms of user-centric designs
  • Incorporate analytics knowledge and feedback data into intelligent iterative design solutions that optimize user experience as well as interface features and functionality
  • Ensure the proposed solutions meet and surpass business goals
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders
  • Attend and facilitate review meetings and demos
  • Provide status reports on projects and proactively raise any issues or concerns as they arise

  • 5-7 years working experience designing innovative and visually stunning user experiences
  • Strong creative portfolio showcasing a strong sense of aesthetics and solid understanding of web design and user experience principles including typography, layout, iconography, composition, information architecture, animation, usability, interactions, colour\xe2\x80\xa6 etc
  • Experience across web, apps and different digital experiences
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of current interface trends including accessibility guidelines/standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems and provide elegant and effective solutions
  • Fluency and understanding of website information architecture
  • Strong knowledge of Axure
  • Demonstrated skill in Adobe products and Figma
  • Understanding how to work with data using tools like Web analytics and Clicktale
  • Ability to lead projects from conception through to completion
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Be self motivated with high attention to detail
  • Be highly organized and able to effectively meet deadlines
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS/JS capabilities and limitations
  • Curiosity, continuous learning and an open-minded attitude.
