Work Arrangements: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately November 2023), coming into the office 25% on designated days.

The Opportunity: The Senior UX Designer, Group Benefits, takes the digital experience to our members, sponsors and advisors in a way that precisely meets their distinct needs by collaborating with team members and building with partners.

The designer understands business requirements and any technical limitations. Working with the core team, they are responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes. The UX designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product, ensure a great user experience and iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing. This person will be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with clients, teams and other stakeholders, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.

What you\'ll do:

  • Translate complex concepts and interactions into simple, elegant, and coherent design, and define and take user journeys from concept through implementation.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Design and deliver low- and high-wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Take a client-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
  • Gauge the usability of new and existing products and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Execute on the GB vision and roadmap.
  • Monitor key performance indicators for our digital experiences.
  • Engage with external partners and clients directly to understand their needs.
  • Stay on top of current and emerging digital trends, bringing new and innovative ideas to elevate our client and partner digital experiences.
  • Work closely with agile teams ensuring front end digital experiences align with and support back-office functions.
  • Align with both Savings & Retirement (S&R) and Individual Insurance to ensure consistent delivery of digital experiences.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of UX design experience.
  • Must have a clear understanding of user behavior, and be proficient in a wide variety of skills, ranging from psychology to design and technology.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
  • Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design
  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry\'s latest trends and technologies.
  • Deep experience with Agile ways of working.
