About the Role: The Senior Underwriting Assistant position is a wonderful opportunity to provide technical and analytical assistance to the Property Facultative Underwriting team, supporting both direct and broker markets. In it, you will be utilizing various software applications, records management solutions, workstream processes, as well as coordinating with client markets and other functional roles within the company.
Additionnal responsbilities might include but not limited to:

  • Provide analytical support by entering key account information into pricing tools and gathering additional data on account specifics to help your underwriting team with the decision-making process. Additional tasks include, participating in deal triage calls, processing submissions in accordance with triage decisions, and managing all Facultative Underwriting documentation within Admin tools.
  • Provide administrative support such as, handling submissions for risk clearing, ITC checks and proper UW assignment, binding transactions, issuing certificates and endorsements, drive operational excellence and automation, and ensure strong data quality.
  • Handle adhoc requests from Underwriters, engage and communicate with internal stakeholders.

You will be responsible for providing administrative, technical & analytical assistance to a great team of underwriters. Your performance and contributions will have a direct impact on the productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the underwriting unit.
About You:
  • Minimum of two year associate degree; or equivalent experience.
  • (Re)insurance knowledge required
  • Property Insurance knowledge required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Data savviness / Very strong attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - Reliable and self-reliant task manager
  • Strong customer focus and service orientation
  • Ability to cope with changes in tasks and priorities
  • Ability and willingness to transfer knowledge and experience to colleagues
  • Ability to complete work independently or in cooperation with others on well-defined tasks in a project and will define some tasks independently.
  • Demonstrates willingness to seek new knowledge and tasks, questions current processes, and able to suggest improvements.
