Under general direction of the Assistant Manager, Treasury and Investments Service, the incumbent will be responsible for the analysis, accounting, forecasting, budgeting and reporting of the University's investments, investment income, long-term debt (including internal debt) and cash management. Among other things, the incumbent will coordinate and prepare all working schedules and handle the year-end audit related to the investments and long-term debt sections of the University's financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP. The incumbent will work with complex financial models and develop new ones as needed, for the analysis, forecasting and budgeting of the University's investment income and various cash inflows and outflows of the entire University. Finally, the incumbent will assist in the preparation of all internal and external reporting related the University's debt strategy and the management of the University's internal loan program.
Qualifications Required:
I. EDUCATION:
University or college degree in accounting or finance, and completion of the CPA designation or equivalent combination and experience.
II. EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years accounting experience, including preparation of financial statements, reconciliations and forecasting, preparation of complex analysis; experience of accounting for investment is desired.
III. SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is an asset. Knowledge of the University's Administrative Management System (AMS), specifically its Financial Information System (FIS) is an asset.
IV. OTHER:
Strong analytical skills and demonstrates initiative and independent thinking. Able to adapt existing procedures and processes as changes occur. Provide recommendations for improvements. Excellent oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities and short deadlines. Good organizational skills and accuracy in work.
