WSP is seeking a Senior Transportation Design Engineer to join our Municipal team in British Columbia. This role consists of working with multi-discipline project teams, managing our design staff, and providing technical and engineering design support for various unique projects locally and across the province.

What you can expect to do here:

• Preparing and contributing to transportation studies for provincial and municipal roads, transit planning studies, conceptual plans, functional and or conceptual design, as well as functional and preliminary design activities.
• Liaising with clients, project team members, technical agencies, and road authorities regarding project requirements in developing creative and effective solutions.
• Lead the delivery of Transportation Design projects, including Municipal, Transit, and Private Development projects.
• Collaborating with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners, and designers, as well as other technical disciplines, in developing and implementing multi-modal planning and design solutions.
• Overseeing and conducting site plan reviews for several projects ranging from small to large developments to ensure each site functions well based on municipal design standards, including parking and loading.
• Lead the delivery of construction and traffic management plans for projects following BC MOTT, Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), and municipal design standards.
• Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to design standards and best practices.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior and intermediate employees.
• Continuous knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring to develop your skills and career.
• Participating in business development initiatives, including conducting research, preparing input for proposals, and coordinating input from the multi-disciplinary team; and
• Other duties as assigned/required.

What you'll bring to WSP:

• A professional interest in sustainable transportation and contributing to the planning and design of mobility solutions that support the goal of mitigating climate change
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia (P. Eng.)
• Minimum 8 years of progressive Transportation design related experience
• Strong communication skills (writing and presentations)
• Leadership and coordination abilities working within a team environment
• Experience using AutoCAD and AutoTURN is an asset
• Experience in transportation software and methods (e.g. Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, CCG, VISSIM, Aimsun) is an asset
• Experience with Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently.

Compensation
Salary range (in British Columbia): $96,200 - $132,200
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
