Position: Senior IT Program Manager (Technology Implementation)
Location: Toronto
Job Type: 9+ months contract, full-time (opportunity to extend for multiple years) on-site
Our Toronto-based client, consistently ranked as one of Canada\'s top employers, is looking for a Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for managing the delivery of complex technology solutions organized in either projects or programs consisting of initiatives to support business goals and objectives.
This position requires working on-site in downtown Toronto four days a week.
Your New Role:
You will manage program delivery across various technology platforms, business functions and capabilities in a Multi-Speed IT environment.Some of the key responsibilities include:- Managing multiple, complex technology programs and projects using waterfall and/or hybrid agile methodologies, providing oversight during all project phases.
- Working closely with business stakeholders to determine project scope and expectations, monitoring business process performance, and prioritizing technical activities to keep projects on track.
- Identifying and resolving performance gaps and risks, collaborating with technology stakeholders on requirements and execution, facilitating communication between various teams, and managing external partners for technology solutions.
- Producing standard project delivery artifacts, designing complex process flows, and implementing process improvements for operational efficiency.
- Managing delivery through indirect authority, overseeing costs, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong relationships with stakeholders are essential to ensure high client satisfaction, mediate conflicts, and manage program financials.
Key Requirements:- Minimum 10 years of experience leading large, complex multi-million dollar B2C projects or programs.
- Expertise in process improvement mapping, project management, and change management principles (e.g., Six Sigma/LEAN).
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver results on time and on budget.
- Excellent understanding of application development lifecycle concepts, including complex technology solution development, integrations, and system migrations.
- Expertise with SDLC methodology, Waterfall, and Agile frameworks.
- Good knowledge of technology environments, including network infrastructure, servers, and operating systems.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills.
- Results-oriented mindset with a drive to remove obstacles and accelerate delivery.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, handling ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong understanding of the "customer journey."
- Experience with performance testing of scalable customer-facing solutions.
- Functional understanding of modern software/SaaS, hardware/cloud, and networking platforms.
- Ability to act independently, take initiative, and drive tasks to resolution.
- Corporate savviness and ability to manage stakeholder expectations and inter-company politics.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Post-secondary education in Business IT Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- PMP or PgMP certification required; PMI-ACP, CSM, Change Management, Scrum Master, and ITIL certifications are assets.
