Area of Assignment:

Diagnostic Imaging (DI) - CT Department

Basic Function and Scope:

As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team the incumbent is responsible for coordinating resources and providing technical leadership in the daily operations of the Computerized Tomography (CT) Department and supports the education and development of health care providers. Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care, in all we do.

Hours of Work:

Rotating shifts in the unit as required, as well as, on-call responsibilities.

Status:

Temporary Full-time Vacancy (up to 12 months parental leave replacement)

Pay Rate

: $41.11-$52.47

Qualifications:



Education

:

Successful completion of a Medical Radiation Technology Program; Successful Completion of CAMRT 1, 2, & 3, or equivalent; Certificate in IV insertion and maintenance, or equivalent; Computed Tomography Imaging Certificate (CTIC), preferred.

Registration:



Current C.M.R.I.T.O registration mandatory.

Membership:



Membership with CAMRT and/or OAMRS, is an asset.

Experience:



Previous hospital experience, is an asset; Previous leadership/management experience, is an asset; Competency on CT scan equipment such as, Contrast Power Pump, CT Flouro Unit, Contrast Warmers, ADW Workstation, as well as, Cerner and PACS; Minimum of five (5) years recent full-time experience as a CT Scan Technologist, preferred.

Required Skills:



Excellent customer service skills with sensitivity to needs of multicultural clientele; Knowledge of Medical Terminology; Demonstrated ability with above average written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a high level of professionalism in interpersonal relations; Evidence of strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and show flexibility; Must have strong independent decision making skills with a high level of initiative; Evidence of ongoing education; Working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems and Microsoft Office; Discretion and maturity in handling confidential matters; Ability to prioritize urgent care needs and work as a member of a team to support efficient workflow within the department and with other departments within the hospital; Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients and families) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and completing relevant mandatory education as required; Must have previous good performance and attendance record; Must have annual review education completed;
