ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Technical Services Technician to join our technical services team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough testing of various electrical equipment and relays, ensuring their proper functionality and adherence to industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical testing, proficiency in diagnostic tools, and a commitment to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our technical systems in the Greater Toronto Area and throughout Ontario.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform comprehensive testing of electrical equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and other related components.
Utilize testing equipment and diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot issues promptly.
Conduct routine inspections to assess the condition and performance of equipment.
Test and calibrate protective relays to ensure they operate within specified parameters.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement relay testing plans.
Analyze test results and recommend adjustments or replacements as necessary.
Conduct diagnostic analysis on electrical systems to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.
Interpret test data and collaborate with engineers to develop effective solutions.
Develop and follow testing protocols and procedures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Stay updated on advancements in testing methodologies and implement best practices.
Maintain accurate records of all equipment and relay tests, including detailed test procedures and results.
Generate comprehensive reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and any necessary corrective actions.
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to coordinate equipment testing schedules and priorities.
Provide technical support during equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Diploma in Electrical or equivalent relevant experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in electrical equipment and relay testing.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel in and around the Greater Toronto Area and throughout Ontario.
Experience with Omicron, Megger and Raytech test equipment is considered an asset.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to equipment testing.
