We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Senior Technical Product Owner. The work location for this position is in Canada and is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.

The Opportunity:

Work in a remote-friendly environment with a vibrant and growing technology program that utilizes industry leading tools and platforms to serve our customers with business-focused solutions.

This role will be responsible for maximizing product value by defining product goals, product roadmap and managing backlog. You will own one or more products on the Platform Engineering Team where you will have an opportunity to work with various technology utilizing Confluent Kafka, Reltio, AWS, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub, Terraform, Google Cloud, BigQuery, Datadog, and more, to help integrate systems, do stream processing, provide master data management, and manage data warehouses across the enterprise. You will work with stakeholders across various levels of the organization to ensure the decisions you make maximize business value and minimize impact on other teams. .

In this role you\xe2\x80\x99ll:

  • Define and maintain product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
  • Provide vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders throughout initiatives
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to intake new initiatives and refine these requests
  • Assess strategic importance, financial impact, and development effort to prioritize initiatives
  • Conduct agile ceremonies to keep the work on track
  • Create technical requirements, documentation, models, specifications, diagrams, or charts to ensure a clear understanding of what\xe2\x80\x99s to be implemented
  • Perform detailed, technical analysis of existing functionality or new functionality, and be able to explain the work needed to different kinds of stakeholders from the engineering team that will implement this to the executive level to explain benefits and impact.
  • Work with the development team to produce non-functional requirements
  • Coordinate with other scrum teams to identify dependencies and impact to each other\xe2\x80\x99s roadmap
  • Conduct UAT tests with stakeholders
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product to ensure the development team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
  • Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionality
  • Assist with post-deployment support, and develop plans to address issues or scenarios that may not have been covered in the requirements or not expected
  • Measure outcome of changes, processes, and systems against well-defined metrics and KPIs
  • Research and analyze vendor product capabilities, and market trends
  • Assist in system integration and architectural design decisions and analysis when needed
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
At times:
  • Help in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Create system design proposals.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Provide orientation and training to end-users for all modified and new systems.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Conduct gap analysis.
Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you bring:

College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration and/or 5+ years related work experience.

Experience with Google BigQuery

Experience with enterprise application integrations through interfaces such as Web API and/or Kafka

Experience working with programming languages such as Java is an asset

Experience deploying or managing Amazon AWS Cloud Services and/or Google Cloud Platform is an asset

Experience with Reltio or other Master Data Management tools is an asset

Knowledge of agile process and principles

Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.

Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills

Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Ability to work with stakeholders of different levels and expertise to reach consensus on scope and timelines.

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

This job will require you to:
