Position Summary:



The Senior Tax Analyst assists the Manager of Indirect Taxation in ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations for our Canadian and US subsidiaries. The candidate will assist in the preparation and review of US Sales/Use, as well as Canadian GST/HST/PST Tax returns; reconcile accounts; support during indirect tax audits and all other related projects.



Responsibilities:



Assist in the preparation and review Canadian and US indirect tax returns. Reconcile general ledger account and prepare any necessary adjustments. Review account statements and notices of assessment and communicate with tax authorities. Prepare tax queries and data analysis, to ensure compliance with indirect tax regulations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the indirect tax process and support the development of tax policies. Support the preparation and analysis required for government audits. Participate in ongoing projects, including the implementation of the indirect tax management system, and contribute to the continuous improvement of tax compliance processes. Stay updated on legislative changes related to Canadian and U.S. indirect tax and conduct tax research as needed. Perform any other related tasks.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Professional accounting designation (CPA). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with commodity tax. Excellent communication skills in both English and French. Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office suites, and SAP. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Knowledge of Canadian and American indirect tax is an asset.
