We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Associate to join our team. This role involves managing bookkeeping, preparing tax returns, and providing comprehensive support to the partner on a wide range of tax matters. The Tax Associate will collaborate closely with internal staff and clients to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities
Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, along with other required government filings
Assist working paper files for compilation engagements, including adjusting entries and reconciliations
Communicate effectively with clients to request supporting documents and resolve outstanding matters
Prepare correspondence with the Canada Revenue Agency regarding personal and corporate tax matters
Qualifications:
1-3 year's post-CPA experience
Recent public accounting experience with a strong focus on tax
Experience in performing tax planning and preparation for individuals, estates, trusts, and small businesses with a focus on an owner-managed client base
Comfortable researching complex and unusual tax matters and applying this specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address a variety of tax issues relevant to internal and external clients including re-organizations
Proven ability to prepare and review a variety of Canadian and/or U.S. tax returns (T1, T2, T3s, etc) for individuals and organizations.
Experience with Caseware, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office tools would be a bonus

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
