The Senior Systems Engineer\xe2\x80\x99s primary role is to operationally support and maintain all aspects of Bayshore\xe2\x80\x99s Citrix environment. Secondary responsibility is ensuring that all datacenter assets have event monitoring in place and alert thresholds are established. This role requires a strong understanding and working experience with Citrix, Event monitoring, VMWare, Active Directory, and Windows Servers.

This includes deployment, operational hands-on management with ongoing maintenance and support of the various infrastructure technologies deployed in Bayshore. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing 2nd level and/or 3rd level support including technical guidance to IT teams and users as required. This position will join a team responsible for compute, storage and cloud infrastructure, telephony systems, call center platforms including datacenter network and branch office connectivity.

The Senior Systems Engineer - Citrix reports directly to the Manager Cloud and Build Services.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design, Implement, Manage, Support and maintain the following Technologies:
Must have Senior Engineer strong hands-on experience and product understanding of the below services and be able to support related products as needed:

  • Expert knowledge in VDI infrastructure technologies such as Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop. This includes Citrix Delivery Services, Store Front, PVS and Machine Creation Services, policy management, ICA and HDX protocols, Secure Ticket Authority, Session Reliability, License Server, RDS, Terminal Services, etc.
  • Expert knowledge in providing citrix published applications, group policies, user access and profile management and VDA management.
  • Strong knowledge of the underlying Infrastructure components such as Hyperconverged and Virtualization Technologies such as Dell VXRAIL,and VMWare ESXi. This includes Redundancy Factor settings, Cluster technology, Host and Storage management, Virtual Machine settings, policies and management, capacity management, virtual networks etc.
  • Solid knowledge in Windows Server technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Provide technical services related to assessment, design, VDA implementation, migration, upgrades, and technical documentation.
  • Perform analysis of remote monitoring reports to identify capacity and performance issues and remediate them. Knowledge in monitoring & management, up/down device monitoring, asset management for in-scope monitored devices etc.
  • The successful candidate must have a customer/user first approach when working with and collaborating with project teams and Citrix users.
  • Candidates with working experience in the below will be considered first
o Powershell, Power CLI to automate tasks
o Linux server specifically RHEL
o Microsoft SQL technologies specific to Citrix Product
o Print Services
o SSL certificate lifecycle management (CSRs, private keys, certificate chains, etc)

Location : Mississauga (Hybrid)

Qualifications

Education
  • Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent
  • Industry certifications in one or more of the following:
  • Windows Server Administration Fundamentals - Understanding Active Directory, server roles
  • Microsoft \xe2\x80\x93 MCSE, MCSA Server Infrastructure certification
  • Citrix Virtual APPs - Citrix CCP-V, CCE-V and/or CCP-N
  • Citrix Certified Advance Administration (CCAA)
  • Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure
  • VMWare - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
Experience
  • 6-10 years in a senior technical role supporting Citrix, Active Directory and related eco-systems that deliver secure access for users to applications, servers and desktops
  • 3-5 years with VMWare
  • 3-5 years with Windows Servers
  • 3-5 years provisioning and supporting Citrix services
Other Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment and work independently
  • Excellent time management, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; oral and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities under pressure with careful attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry \xe2\x80\x93 an asset
