How You Will Contribute:
As a System/Solution Test Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering world-class networking technologies. You'll be a hands-on leader, testing, validating, and automating solutions that redefine the industry. From creating test plans to troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, you'll ensure our products exceed customer expectations. Your expertise will influence the future of EVPN, Segment Routing, MPLS, Multicast, and virtualized network devices.
You'll collaborate across teams, drive end-to-end solution testing, and champion quality at every stage. Automation will be your superpower as you design and implement scalable testing frameworks to accelerate product excellence.
The Must Haves:Deep expertise in IP Routing technologies like BGP, Segment Routing, MPLS, EVPN, IPv6, and Multicast.
Hands-on experience with network management systems (Netconf/YANG, SNMP, MIBs) and test tools like Ixia, Spirent, and network emulators.
Proven ability to engage with customers, translate their needs into solutions, and deliver impactful presentations.
Strong Python programming and troubleshooting skills, with a passion for automation.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate across global teams.
A self-starter mindset with a relentless commitment to delivering high-quality products.
9+ years of experience in data networking or telecommunications, with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (Master's preferred).
The Assets:Familiarity with Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and cloud networking technologies.
Experience with Ethernet services, traffic engineering, fast reroute, and advanced routing.
Knowledge of customer deployment scenarios and a track record of delivering end-to-end solution tests.
Pay Range:
The salary range for this role is $115, 700 - $142, 300
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
