SkyAlyne is a proud partnership between Canadian aviation and defence leaders, CAE and KF Aerospace, formed to provide a truly Canadian solution for Canada's Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program, Canada's next-generation military aircrew training program.
SkyAlyne has been selected as contractor for the FAcT Program, a 25 year program valued at approximately $10 billion. The program will be managed from the National Capital Region (Ottawa), with three operational locations: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Southport (Portage la Prairie), Manitoba; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The scope of the FAcT Program contract includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers, and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators to meet the future aerospace requirements of the Royal Canadian Air Force. In collaboration with the Government of Canada and several major Canadian subcontractors, SkyAlyne will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more.

Job Overview
As part of the Systems Engineering and Integration team, the Senior System Engineering Specialist provides expertise in the development of Products and Services that are part of the Future Aircrew in Training (FAcT) training solution. The Senior System Engineering Specialist is responsible for strategic planning and implementing the system engineering framework lifecycle from requirements definition through to validation and verification, including monitoring baselines and reporting progress, ensuring alignment between program requirements and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interface with Program Management and Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads to identify required work products and services
.
Collaborate with program stakeholders to define solution requirements and specifications.
Manage the requirements baseline to ensure alignment with program objectives.
Administer and maintain the requirements database ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Develop and deliver the functional, allocated, and product/services baselines.
Prepare and present technical presentations to management and customers.
Develop, document, and maintain the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix.
Prepare verification and validation strategies and plans.
Write and deliver technical documentation/ Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) such as test plans, test reports, and system specifications.
Produce progress reports that are related to program activities under your responsibility.
Identify, document, and resolve technical discrepancies arising from verification and validation activities.
Participate in and contribute to program continuous improvement initiatives.
Review technical documentation provided by sub-contractors.
Support solution architects to enable them to specify the system design, development, and deployment requirements.
Participate in the analysis of proposed program changes to determine the effect on the overall program execution.
Collaborate with program stakeholders to define and manage product requirements, prevent scope creep, and make change order recommendations.
Contribute to a strategic overview and guidance for system engineering processes.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline (System Engineering, Integration Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Power Electronics, or Energy Systems) AND/OR eexperience in Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) training, flight operations, or a related aviation/military environment that demonstrates a strong understanding of operational requirements and systems integration.
Minimum of ten (10) years of comparable experience.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Strong managerial and diplomatic skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and be able to interface/support large teams including customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Have proven negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to lead, influence, build, motivate, and obtain consensus.
Be a confident, results-oriented leader.
Outstanding business acumen.
Experience in the Defence and Aerospace industries would be an asset.
Be able to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level) and Controlled Goods Clearance.
Eligible to work in Canada.
Strong oral and written English language capabilities.
Fluency in French would be an asset.
