We are seeking a Senior Construction Superintendent to join our team at Bluepoint Construction in Northern British Columbia. The Senior Superintendent directs operational plans and project management to achieve financial and performance targets. This role ensures adherence to safety regulations, supervises and develops staff, and maintains strong customer and partner relationships. This position also manages company assets and equipment, oversees financial aspects like bidding and project costs, and supports the Operations Manager with strategic decisions to maintain consistency and efficiency across the company.
Responsibilities
Executing on operating and workforce plans, meeting production, safety, profitability and KPI targets for assigned worksites and projects, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
Coordinating short-term contracts, negotiating rates, and managing subcontractor agreements.
Overseeing the maintenance and efficient use of company assets and equipment for assigned work sites and projects including maintenance planning.
Mentoring and developing safety leaders by providing meaningful onboarding training, reviewing and providing feedback, and modeling safety behaviors.
Responsible to consistently and effectively deliver the safety management system across all worksites, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Supervising, coaching, and developing supervisors and lead hands/superintendents and forepersons, leading recruitment for operations staff and overseeing on-the-job training delivery.
Working with Supervisors, HR and Operations Manager to address escalated performance issues and provide guidance on disciplinary actions.
Maintaining customer and partner relationships, ensuring contract obligations are met, and keeping stakeholders informed.
Participating in operational efficiency initiatives and change management and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Delivering consistent and regular communication to Superintendents and ensures messages reach all operations staff. Collects and communicates feedback from field staff to Senior Management.
Required knowledge, skills & Abilities
In-depth knowledge of industry-specific practices, procedures, and safety regulations.
Strong knowledge of risk assessment, safety management systems (SMS) and relevant regulations.
Strong business acumen and understanding of balancing cost control with quality.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and foster collaboration.
Proficiency using industry software, ERP systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
Good ability to use excel for financial and operational purposes.
Ability to monitor and adjust team performance metrics and motivate team members.
A track record of strategic decision-making and sound business judgment.
Ability to focus, plan, and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects and changing priorities.
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of direct industry experience with exposure to all phases of the operations.
Two (2) or more years in a supervisory or managerial role, demonstrating experience in leading teams, managing projects, and achieving operational goals.
Experience in coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and managing timelines, budgets and achieving targets

Pay: $125,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
