Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Inspector to oversee quality assurance and compliance on heavy civil, infrastructure and bridge projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all work meets industry standards, specifications, and internal Quality Management requirements. This position requires strong analysis skills, attention to detail, and expertise in construction inspection processes. Past relevant experience of minimum 5 years is required, otherwise please do not apply. The Senior Inspector will lead inspections, collect data, and compile concise technical inspection reports to be shared with the PM daily, weekly and monthly. They will also maintain on site shared drives that carefully and concisely organize all QA related inspections, inspection reports, NCRs noted, NCR closeouts, site sampling for QA, chain of custody of site samples, follow up obtaining results from site samples, logging all project QA requirements, scheduling with construction team to stay on top of all construction inspections required, fundamental clear understanding of the work is essential and expected for this position.

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough construction inspections to verify adherence to IFC, Shop Drawings, Work Procedures, OPSS, Special Provisions, ITPs. Collect QA samples as required to meet IPT and OPSS requirements. Log all samples on master drive, complete transmittals for delivery of QA samples for testing, follow up on testing, deliver test results upon receipt to client. Ensure all contractor submittals are in and approved before commencement of the work. Perform detailed quality control checks at various stages of construction to ensure standards are met. Document inspection findings accurately and prepare detailed reports for project managers and stakeholders. Collaborate with construction teams to address deficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly. Maintain daily contact with PM, submit daily work and inspection diaries, share all project QA files, inspection. reports, project photos, NCRs, etc.. Ensure all inspection activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements



Infrastructure, Heavy Civil, Bridge senior inspector experience IN ONTARIO with minimum 5 years of direct hands on experience. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings, report writing, communication skills, technical terminology, civil construction experience, understanding of grades, layout, elevations. Knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Ability to perform detailed data collection and maintain accurate records. Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with diverse teams. Must have valid Canadian engineering Civil Engineering degree, preferably with emphasis on structural engineering, practical experience within Ontario and enrolment with PEO preferred. Familiarity with schematic reading and technical documentation is essential. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple inspections simultaneously.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 20 months

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
