Senior Structural Engineer or Structural Department Head

Our business is thriving, and we are looking for our next colleague with whom we will share the pleasure working at Mid-South Engineering, a division of Wood Technologies International, based in Richmond, BC. We are looking for a natural leader who, as a Structural engineer, will take on the lead on challenging and varied projects requiring engineering, design, and consulting capabilities for our clients.

At Mid-South, we provide our clients with engineering, design, and consulting services. We are in the building products industry, wood processing facilities, and diverse heavy industrial manufacturing facilities.

• Leadership and Management Skills
• P. Eng. Designation (or eligibility for registration with EGBC)
• 10-years experience as a Structural Engineer
• Project Management or Task Management skills, (PMP is a plus but not required)
• Can work legally in Canada

And know how to \xe2\x80\xa6

• Lead a group of Engineers and Designers (Coordinating Staff and Project Work)
• Training and Managing People and Prioritize projects and tasks.
• Communicating with the client.
• Solve complex problems, technical writing and presentation.
• Aid in General Conceptual design of operating floor plan and assist with preliminary designs and take-offs.
• Basic estimating and quantity take-offs for steel and concrete.
• Aid in the Design and Drafting of detailed Structural components related to industrial structures and simple buildings.
• Building Code review and basic knowledge of the BC Building Code.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of engineering documentation.
• You have experience with supporting industrial machines.
• Have experience within the Sawmill or Wood Processing industry or other process industries (is a plus!)
