We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.AMD together we advance_THE ROLE:Senior ASIC Design Engineering role with the Security and Embedded Microprocessor IP Team.The primary focus of this role is architecture, design, and verification of embedded micro-processor subsystems, configuration and integration of 3rd party embedded CPU IP, and custom hardware design required for performance, power optimization, and custom functions of the embedded microprocessor subsystems.THE PERSON:The successful candidate will have experience in the selection, configuration, and optimization of embedded microprocessor IP. They will also have experience in the estimation, measurement, and optimization of power, performance, and area for the embedded microprocessor and associated memory, cache, and interface systems.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Digital design and verification of various functional blocks related to:

• Embedded CPU and Secure boot
• AMBA/AXI busses and Network-on-Chip sub-systems
• Clock, Reset, Fuse/OTP
• DMA, compression, cryptography

• Configuration, integration, and test of 3rd party embedded microprocessors into AMD subsystems.

• Work with hardware and software architecture teams to determine features and configuration requirements to meet embedded application functional and performance requirements.
• Development and verification of hardware acceleration, security and SOC interface logic associated with embedded processor.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Specification, development, and verification of custom digital functions for security, DMA, hardware accelerated datapath function and other custom development unique to AMD SOC.
• Build, maintain and modify IP build and delivery infrastructure to support integration of IP to SOC. Support deployment and integration infrastructure and verification teams.
• Contribute to IP verification and optimization methodologies such as power analysis and power reduction, timing improvement, ECO implementation and verification.
• Development of micro-architecture, specification, and test plans.
• Creation of utility software or scripts (C++, Perl, Python, TCL, etc.)
• Use standard design verification tools such as CDC, LINT, Power Analysis, Synthesis, Formal Verification, etc.
• Develop models and test data and test stimulus required to verify designs.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Strong RTL coding and verification experience
• Excellent knowledge of Verilog, C, C++, and common scripting languages (Make, TCL, Perl, Python, C, C++, etc.)
• Experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog testbenches and verification methodologies
• Experience with standard bus/interface protocols (AMBA, AXI, AHB)
• Experience with low-level software/firmware is an asset.
• Strong understanding of digital design, logic synthesis, power, performance, area, and timing optimization
• Prior experience with simulation, emulation, and FPGA hardware prototyping
• Power analysis and thermal management experience is an asset.
• Strong understanding of computer organization/architecture.
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
• Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Major in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with professional experience or a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with extensive professional experience.
