RESPONSIBILITIES


As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in leading assurance engagements, mentoring junior staff, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Lead and manage engagements (compilations, reviews, and audits) for private companies and not-for-profits Review working papers, financial statements, and T2 corporate tax returns Ensure engagements meet professional standards under ASPE and CSRE 2400 Provide oversight on engagements and guidance to junior and senior staff Manage client relationships, serve as the primary point of contact, and support partners by providing timely solutions and exceptional client service Take ownership of files by organizing and executing engagements proactively and with minimal supervision Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address technical issues and deliver insights Assist in the onboarding of new clients and implementation of efficient accounting systems Support internal process improvements and contribute to firm-wide initiatives Stay informed of new technology trends and play a role in introducing innovative accounting tools and software Contributing to a collaborative team culture -- and having fun while doing so

QUALIFICATIONS



CPA designation (or near completion) 2+ years of public practice experience, with a focus on audit Strong working knowledge of ASPE, ASPNO, HST (ETA), Payroll, and corporate tax (T2) compliance and assurance standards Familiarity with articles of incorporation and corporate structures Strong project and time management skills -- able to lead multiple engagements while meeting deadlines and quality standards Confidence in client-facing interactions and ability to explain financial matters clearly to business owners and stakeholders Commitment to mentoring and developing junior staff; enjoys being a coach and resource within the team Solid business acumen and ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients beyond compliance work Comfortable with change and proactive in adopting new tools, systems, and ways of working Tech-forward mindset -- experience with accounting software implementation is a strong asset Proficiency in CaseWare, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office Ability to travel between client sites in the GTA as needed; valid driver's license.
