Specialty Health Network by Shoppers supports our pharmacies to provide the best patient care to patients who require specialty drugs. We deliver Patient Support Programs for our pharma clients, provide physicians with resources to manage their patients, facilitate reimbursement, and enhance patient compliance. We deliver superior customer service to patients, healthcare providers and pharmaceutical manufacturers to improve healthcare outcomes for all stakeholders.

We are hiring a Senior Specialist, Virtual Card Services to support our delivery of Payment Assistance Cards for clients (e.g., Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Patient Support Programs).

Basic Function

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Virtual Card Services, the senior specialist is responsible for the implementation and management of our Payment Assistance Card strategy. This role will be the liaison between SHN and our payment assistant card Vendor and Shoppers Drug Mart teams such as Pricing and HealthWATCH. Amongst other duties related to the success of our Virtual Card Strategy, 4 main areas of focus for this role are:

Implementation and management of Payment Assistance Card strategies for new program launches and amendments. The Senior Specialist will work with the Senior Manager and other internal teams to collect Virtual Card Policy requirements and submit them for build to our vendor and relevant Shoppers Drug Mart teams (Pricing, HealthWATCH etc). This will include maintaining, updating, and terminating cards, certifications, or policies as needed. Active management and prioritizing policy builds (in sprint cycles) in collaboration with the Senior Manager will be key. This role will be the liaison between SHN and our Vendor and SDM teams. Managing Virtual Card escalations from different teams and pharmacies. This includes troubleshooting and providing technical assistance, along with training colleagues on Virtual Card best practices. Supporting pharmacy-level auditing and data analysis to ensure our Payment Assistance Card strategy is optimized for patient care and cost-containment strategies. This may also include approving invoices for payment and providing access to reports to other colleagues. Implementing Projects related to the success of our Virtual Card strategy. This may include but is not limited to creating job aids and submitting technology enhancement requests.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in pharmacy and/or reimbursement space
• Prior project management experience an asset
• Experience managing large datasets in excel
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Innovative drive and creativity
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as salesforce
• A team player with the desire to provide superior customer care
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Must work well under pressure, with changing deadlines from external forces, changing priorities, and projects with multiple individuals within the organization
