Position Description

In addition to fulfilling the main duties and responsibilities of a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS), the Senior Sonographer performs technical, analytical and educational functions for the unit. The primary function of the senior technologist is to act as an applied technical expert within the specialty. This expert will be responsible for acting as a resource and consultant to the team with regards to clinical and technical processes, by using significant independent judgment to advise and support peers.

Here's what you'll get to do



Leadership and technical resource for the sonographers and learners in Ultrasound Be responsible for all imaging equipment maintenance, safety, and quality control Be responsible for the development of staff to ensure resources and skill levels are appropriate to meet the imaging needs of the department Work in close collaboration with the Senior Manager and team lead, in procurement and operationalizing new equipment Participation in department projects/initiatives Be responsible for organizing and implementing educational aspects and the administrative needs of the unit. Work in collaboration with the health care team to ensure optimal service to our patients and efficient operations and patient flow Create, utilize and /or disseminate new knowledge Coordinate the efficient and safe patient flow in Ultrasound in collaboration with other team members Perform Ultrasound exams Liaise with all members of the Ultrasound team, radiologists as well as service engineers.

Here's what you'll need



Successful completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program DMS registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Membership with Sonography Canada preferred for liability insurance or equivalent Expert knowledge in pediatric ultrasound Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Ultrasound Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize work Proficiency with computers Strong customer service orientation Attention to detail and efficient time management Ability to work with minimal supervision in team environment A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion

Employment Type;

Temporary full time- 3 year contract
