Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Solid Waste Management team that currently has an established and growing solid waste practice in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nunavut, of the Infrastructure, based in Brampton, ON office and have the opportunity to apply their experience and expertise in solid waste management facility operations, siting, approvals, design, and construction.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Develop, lead, and manage project teams.
  • Manage solid waste projects that include design and construction of processing and disposal facilities such as landfills, collection depots, transfer stations, material recycling, and organic management.
  • Supporting the preparation of environmental approvals and design and operation plans.
  • Provide technical direction for completing waste disposal capacity studies.
  • Review technical studies, and supervising intermediate and junior staff.
  • Manage or support projects in Ontario, Alberta, or BC and internationally.
  • Support our Arctic solid waste management team.
  • Manage clients, staff, and subcontractors.
  • Using your current client experience to assist in the growth of the department, prepare proposals, and pursue new clients and opportunities.
What your experience looks like
  • Licensed as a P.Eng in Ontario (PEO), Alberta (APEGA) or BC (EGBC).
  • A minimum of 10 years of practical solid waste management consulting experience including relevant experience in various facets of the waste management sector.
  • Practical experience and expertise in landfill engineering design and operations, and also an asset to have expertise in waste processing facility operation and design, environmental approvals/compliance requirements, and waste management planning support.
  • Ability to identify and manage implementation of practical, cost-effective solutions to client problems and issue resolution.
  • Commitment to teamwork and is self-motivated, skilled at managing multiple projects on time and on budget.
  • Excellent technical review and writing skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, MS Project, etc.).
