We are looking for a Senior Software Web Engineer to join our team in Halifax, NS.

The Senior Software Web Engineer is responsible for developing micro services and micro frontends in a Kubernetes environment.

As a Senior Software Web Engineer, your responsibilities include the following:

• Developing new user-facing features using Angular and Spring Boot;
• Building reusable components and libraries for future use;
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code;
• Estimating level of effort, project planning, and forecasting;
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across an array of web-capable devices and browsers;
• Assist in feature design and documentation;
• Facilitate the day-to-day activities of a Scrum team; and
• Tracking and reporting of assigned features.

As a Senior Software Web Engineer, the applicant must have the following qualifications and education:

• A passion for building great software that provides a positive user experience;
• Strong proficiency in Angular, Spring Boot, and Docker;
• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts and operations;
• Experience with data driven design and reactive programming;
• Familiarity with designing and consuming RESTful APIs;
• Knowledge of Oauth2 and OpenID Connect;
• Knowledge of geo-spatial concepts and databases;
• Experience with SQL servers;
• Experience in Python and Azure DevOps;
• Knowledge of DevOps and production Ops such as metrics, logging, and alerting;
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements;
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as GIT;
• 5-10 years of related work experience in software development;
• Experience in front-end software development including HTML, CSS/Sass, Javascript;
• Experience in back-end development including Sharepoint, C#, .NET frameworks; and
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Applicants must possess a work history that highlights the following combination of skills and experience:

• Experience with cloud hosting;
• Experience with the different OIDC flows;
• Experience with playing live video and video-on-demand in a browser;
• Experience with PostGIS.
