About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer working on Software Assurance, you will provide structured oversight and coordination to ensure all software-internally developed and vendor-delivered-meets program, contractual, and software assurance standards. A key part of this role is maintaining a holistic view of software progress across the program and ensuring software-related milestones, reviews, and deliverables are met on schedule.
This position requires strong cross-team collaboration, as you will work daily with product leads, engineering teams, program management, quality organizations, and external vendors. You will drive alignment, resolve gaps, and maintain clear tracking across all stakeholders. You will also develop, write, publish, and deliver Subcontract Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs) for software, ensuring all required documentation is complete, compliant, and delivered on time.
This role emphasizes exceptional organization, communication, and follow-through to sustain full visibility into software quality and readiness.
What you bring to the role

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software assurance, software quality, systems engineering, project coordination, or technical oversight.
  • Proven ability to maintain a holistic, program-level view of software schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Experience developing, writing, publishing, and delivering Software SDRLs (Subcontract Data Requirements Lists).
  • Strong organization and tracking skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous software activities across internal teams and vendors.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with product leads, IPTs, program leadership, and vendors to gather status, ensure compliance, and drive closure of open items.
  • Familiarity with software assurance and engineering standards, including IEEE-12207, IEEE-15286, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Ability to review software documentation and artifacts for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with program requirements.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and proactive follow-through skills.
Additional skills desired for the role
  • Historical software engineering experience or prior involvement in leading major software development efforts.
  • Experience supporting programs with multiple suppliers, distributed teams, or complex schedules.
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or traditional development environments.
  • Proficiency using Jira, Confluence, or similar systems for tracking software work products and documentation.
  • Background performing artifact reviews, audits, or compliance checks.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or software safety domains, or supporting safety-critical or secure software efforts.
  • Ability to interpret and tailor software assurance requirements for specific products or suppliers.
  • Certifications in quality, engineering, or Agile practices (CSQE, CSM, SAFe, etc.) are a plus.

Language Requirements in Quebec
Knowledge of the English language is required for this role as the position described in this posting requires the candidate to communicate every day with a virtual team outside Quebec as well as communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.
