Position Overview

As an engineer on the Admin API team, your mission will be to productionize our APIs to be exceptionally performant, usable and extendable. You will collaborate on a team of excellent engineers to accomplish this mission. The Mission Control team owns the tier 1 core APIs the all ACS products depend on. Projects, users, accounts, entitlements, and more are our most critical data sets at ACS. We have some of the largest reach and impact in the organization. The API team is responsible for making the API lifecycle story as excellent and simple to manage as possible.

Responsibilities

You will research, conceive, design and develop backend components and tools to extend, improve, stabilize and scale the MC team\'s APIs

Collaborate with a variety of teams in ACS, both domestic and abroad

Create tools and frameworks to make developing, testing, publishing, communicating and EOLing Mission Control APIs as easy as possible for our feature teams

Take an active role in code reviews & pull requests, get your own code reviewed by the team and become a better developer overall

Minimum Qualifications

BS or MS in a technical field, or significant equivalent experience

5+ years of backend and distributed systems engineering experience

3+ years developing backend solutions using Node.js

Expertise with SQL/Postgres DB

Strong ability to design scalable, available, resilient and cost-effective applications in the cloud (preferably AWS). The candidate should have the ability to pick out the right tech stack and tools for the problem to be solved

Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with multiple types of audiences ranging from managers, customers, and software developers
